1. Brightening the Holidays for Families and Individuals Living with HIV/AIDS

TIHAN and SAAF are working together to brighten the holidays for our CarePartners and their families, and we are seeking individuals, groups, and faith communities to "adopt" a family or a child and purchase a holiday gift (in the price range of $25-$50 per person).

This year's 6th annual collaboration for the holidays features Family Day festivities designed specifically for parents with children under the age of 18 who are living in the home. Families living with HIV will be given the opportunity to "shop" for one another (from among gifts that you have donated), create holiday cards and crafts, visit Santa and decorate cookies.

Donations of new gift items are needed, and can be dropped off at the TIHAN office before Monday, December 10. The most popular family gifts are gift cards in $20 denominations, allowing the parents, teens, and children to choose what they need most. We especially need gifts for adolescents. We also need holiday decorations, wrapping paper, and craft supplies (simple ones that kids will enjoy).

Time, talents and treasures are needed to brighten this holiday event. Please contact Kim Talerico, Volunteer Coordinator, at kim@tihan.org or 299-6647 if you are interested in volunteering for the Holiday Family Day or have holiday supplies, gifts, and/or time to donate.
